The band, consisting of 16 musicians playing onstage together, offers a unique and breathtaking soul and R&B music show, with the hottest Latin rhythms. Some of the greatest legends of American music, from bands like EARTH WIND & FIRE, RAY CHARLES, The BLUES BROTHERS, TOM JONES, STEVE WONDER, DIANA ROSS, TOWER of POWER, TOM JONES, TITO PUENTE, ALLMAN BROTHERS and many others have been every year Joe Castellano’s special guests. Recently the big band has taken part in important and prestigious music festivals and events, opening for such prestigious groups as the BLUES BROTHERS, SOLOMON BURKE, GEORGE BENSON, EARTH WIND & FIRE Experience by Mr. Al McKay, on several Italian tour dates.

For eight successive years the band was awarded “BEST ORIGINAL EUROPEAN BLUES & SOUL BAND” by Radio 1 RAI and by some of the most authoritative European and American magazines: the band is regarded as one of the greatest original Soul & Blues Bands in the world. After the great 2010 Tour the band will have an even more breathtaking line up, which will make fans go crazy all around Europe. In this 2011 show the band will pay tribute to its close friend and King of Soul, SOLOMON BURKE, who recently passed away. It will be a sensational, ever new show with 16/18 musicians onstage.

 

The Leader and creator of “BLUES & WINE SOUL FESTIVAL” and his exceptional Soul/Rhythm'n'Blues Band, together with its great special guests, in the last four years toured with legendary performers or bands, like EARTH WIND & FIRE Experience and GEORGE BENSON.

In 2011 the band will release a new live album, “FROM THE BOTTOM OF SOUL”, for which it will be recorded an appendix with original and rearranged classic songs.

During these last years JOE CASTELLANO’S SUPER BLUES BAND has been appreciated by many famous personalities of Italian and international music and by great American associations, such as ERIC CLAPTON, SOLOMON BURKE, TOM MALONE, RENZO ARBORE, PAOLO CONTE, BRUCE IGLAUER president of ALLIGATOR RECORDs (Chicago) and many others.

 

Many performers from the most legendary soul bands played together with Joe Castellano in this great project, one of the most fruitful collaborations between the greatest stars of soul music.
